President TRUMP wrote:
It’s not clear what he means by destroying the uranium in place. Short of transmuting it in place by some nuclear process (impractica!), it can’t be destroyed. It has to be dug up and physically removed from Iran, preferably to return to the United States where it can be added to their uranium stocks, since they are one of the few pro-energy countries left in the West.

“It’s not clear what he means by destroying the uranium in place. ”
Its a sign (and a measure) of his understanding of science. When he blows something up, its gone! Vanished! He never looks after the explosion..

Bare Sphere Critical Mass
For a bare sphere (no reflector, normal density) of uranium enriched to ~90% U-235:
The critical mass is approximately 50 to 56 kilograms (110–123 lbs).
This would form a sphere roughly 17 cm (6.8 inches) in diameter.
At this enrichment level, the material is considered “weapons-grade” because it allows for a compact critical mass suitable for weapon designs.
31
This is merely the “face saving” goal to appease the masses and allow ongoing market manipulation in the face of an impending financial/energy crisis that will make the GFC or dot-com bust look like hiccups.

Why isn’t gold going to the moon? It’s down 20% this year.
31
Keep in mind that prices should continue to rise with the collapse of the US dollar and a return to the gold standard.

Have you any charts to say the US is collapsing? The yuan is not transferrable, in fact it is more restricted than ever, so cannot possibly depose the Yankee dollar or even be part of a new currency such as BRICS.

The middle east nations that can’t sell oil are likely selling down their gold to get money to tide them over. This also happened in 1983.

I see that, hadn’t thought of it though. I knew Russia is flying gold around to meet obligations because they are locked out of SWIFT banking but that has been happening for some time.
But no one is panic selling the dollar, the US is not going to ‘ell.

You can see that I’m a gold bug, have been for decades because I too believed in the death of the US$ as I also believed in peak oil. Today? Not so much. I am a more discerning reader.

Gold hit a high of US$5,327 on 26th Jan. It is now at US$4,514. If the US is going to hell as you insist where is the money going? The act of selling is actually not so much a sale but an exchange of assets – you sell US backed assets by exchanging them for something else. If the US is being dumped something else, maybe gold, will be rising. It is not obvious to me.
11
How and why Nixon deserted the gold standard.
https://discoveryalert.com.au/1971-gold-standard-end-nixon-shock/
In the transition the SWIFT banking will continue to operate, but there maybe other players to contend with.
01
Now, just why can’t young people buy a house and why does it take two people working full-time to afford one..?
“Before the Nixon Shock, the American economy displayed remarkable stability in several key metrics. Worker compensation and productivity rose in lockstep, creating broad-based prosperity. A single income was typically sufficient for a middle-class lifestyle, including home ownership.
Wages kept pace with economic growth, allowing workers to benefit directly from increases in productive capacity. The expanding middle class represented one of the most significant economic developments of the post-WWII era, with homeownership reaching record levels.
Perhaps most importantly, income gains were broadly shared across economic classes. The gap between executive and worker compensation remained relatively modest, with CEOs earning approximately 20 times the average worker’s salary—compared to over 350 times today.
Federal debt increased from $398 billion to over $36 trillion, an increase of more than 9,000%. This unprecedented growth in national debt was only possible under a fiat currency system without the discipline imposed by gold backing.
The dollar lost over 87% of its purchasing power since 1971, with some gold price analysis suggesting the decline could be as high as 98% when accounting for changes in calculation methodologies for inflation.
Housing costs have skyrocketed relative to incomes. Median home prices rose more than 1,600% while median household income increased only 475%, making homeownership increasingly unattainable for younger generations without significant family assistance.”
Never let your Govt print money!
30
Conversely, if M3 is limited to the gold in treasury then any expansion of the economy is constrained. The pool could be increased by revaluing gold up but then the gain would be to the benefit of the people not the gov and that would never do.
I’m getting out over my skis a bit but a gold standard won’t work.

Because of the Tickle vs Giggle case, Australia no longer recognises the biological basis of sex/gender (words meaning the same thing but the Left try to make a distinction) making Australia the laughing stock of the world (again).
Thus, any man who thinks he’s a woman can enter formerly protected female-only spaces like toilets, change rooms, sports, women’s only gymnasia, Apps (as in this case) etc..
There is really nowhere in Australia now that is legally sex-seggregated.
That so-called “feminist” Julia Gillard is responsible for this when she altered the Sex Discrimination Act in 2013 with the full support of the fake conservative Liberals which was why they did nothing to change the Act in the 9 years they were in power afterwards. One wonders whether to believe the claim by Liberals today whether they will really change it back to correct this absurdity.
Australia is really behind in sex/gender recognition because biology, not “feelings” is the scientific basis used as the legal basis of sex/gender determination in both the US (by Executive Order) and in the UK (by court ruling).
Sal Grover is the defendant in this case and here is an excellent brief interview between Rita Panahi and Sal Grover. https://youtu.be/HE9_Gi9DR6Y
She has also been banned on Farcebook. It’s not clear if it’s due to their woke policies or their fear of Australia’s strict censorship laws and/or the enforcer thereof, the e Safety Kommissar. Certainly TRUMP told the US social media companies that they were not to censor conservatives if they wanted to keep their Section 230 protections.
A further absurdity mentioned in the video is that Australia’s $408,000 per year Sex Discrimination Commissioner thinks men can be “potentially pregnant”. They’ll have to rewrite the biology books and this being Orwellian Australia, they very likely will.

Are you aware that during the Howard Coalition Government terms they legislated an amendment to the Marriage Act and inserted the words that marriage is between a man and a woman, and that Labor MPs and Senators voted in favour and the bill was passed, including Julia Gillard MP?
I think Senator Wong was also an advocate for the amendment.
21
Yes, we know. But what Howard did in 2004 doesn’t mean the Libs didn’t support Gillard’s legislation in 2013, when they did.
In fact, based on the recent court interpretation, the 2013 changes the Libs supported effectively undid the change Howard made to the marriage act. I say that because the Howard govt change used the words man and woman, not male and female. Clearly Howard never foresaw his party supporting altering how we interpret man and woman. Based on the court decision and use of the terms man and woman, it seems that perhaps 2013 made it possible for two men or two women to marry. As long as one was willing to state they were the other. 😉
But really, the issue isn’t so much about whether we can believe Taylor that they’ll make the change. The court case has crystalised the flaw in the legislation. It can no longer sit there as a potential anomaly. I’m confident they will attempt to make the amendment. The issue is getting it through both houses.
70
And there is the to often problem for House of Representatives legislation, being blocked in the Senate by opposition superior numbers.

Hint:
It wasn’t to save the institution of slavery.
It was about authoritarianism and cultural identity.
My point.
The danger in America today is exactly the same.
Ordinary Americans feel their values and identities threatened by urbanized elites much as 19th century Southerners perceived theirs threatened by industrialization.
And they hold these opinions without regard to how politicians and media portray them.
White Rural Rage: The Threat to American Democracy is a 2024 book by political science professor Thomas Schaller and op-ed columnist Paul Waldman.

This time it’s not the industrial North.
Its the coastal and urban elites that have fallen to the unscrupulous level of maintaining their political power on the false accusation of racism using a misleading, simplistic, and moralistically manipulating interpretation of history.

“While climate wars are heating up again in the halls of parliament, the latest data shows that emissions are falling at significant rates and power bills are coming down on the back of the renewable rollout…Energy Minister Chris Bowen on Friday released official figures that show Australia’s carbon emissions fell by 10 million tonnes in 2025, driven by the uptake of electric vehicles and renewables in the electricity grid. …“The latest quarterly update is further proof that what’s better for the planet is better for your pocket, more of the cheapest form of new energy, more storage to back it up and lower emissions as a result,” Bowen said.”
No, my latest power bill was double what it was pre-Covid, $400-odd to $800-odd.

‘Labor have to improve on their messaging. Get a bit more mongrel. They should have decimated the conservatives even more than they have by trashing their ridiculous stance on coal and their lack of basic understanding of climate change and renewable energy. It’s unfathomable. ‘
‘You don’t have to be a genius or a scientist to understand that renewables and electrification are good for the environment and cheaper overall.

‘The anti renewables brigade need to get out of the way and let science through. ‘

I looked up the Liberal Party of Australia – Dutton Plan for electricity supply and the link is below.
As I understand it the Coalition plan (Dutton announced) for obvious reasons supported existing technologies installed therefore including wind and solar commercial business ventures but no more taxpayer subsidies for any new builds or existing when contracts expire. The existing therefore included coal fired power stations (noting that the last to be built have up to thirty more years of scheduled operation.
The future nuclear power stations were for existing locations to connect with existing transmission lines and using existing facilities, seven in total, five multiple generators power stations and two single generator plants (SMR). These would replace generator capacity lost when coal power stations had been demolished/closed down and add extra installed capacity.

I noted in the SMH article the following quote; “Opposition foreign affairs spokesman Ted O’Brien called for the government to reopen negotiations on the free trade agreement with the European Union, which includes a requirement to “effectively implement” the Paris Agreement.
The opposition in November ditched its commitment to net zero, which is a requirement of the Paris deal that was set as a legally binding pledge by the Albanese government in 2022, under the Climate Change Act.” I do not believe the media claims of “legally binding pledge” or often used “signed up to” for many reasons posted previously.
And why did Albanese Labor believe it was necessary to make that “legally binding pledge” and the later EU Government trade agreement deal with net zero included if already binding?
31
It looks to me like the propaganda based “Uniparty” reference is not a real partners or coalition of parties, and reflects on some decisions that both sides have supported and ignores the many more when the opposition opposed. And if passed in the House of Representatives then blocked in the Senate which is of course why One Nation have until very recently concentrated on upper house representatives (Senator or Councillor in Legislative Councils – States), objective balance of power and blocking or approving government bills.
As I have shown there are various examples of One Nation supporting Coalition legislation, and their now House of Representatives MP Joyce was Deputy Prime Minister Coalition twice and on the public record supporting Snowy 2.0 and other examples now highlighted as “Uniparty”.
I noted that the Fire Fighters Union in Victoria is campaigning against the State Labor Government (Credlin on Sky) and their campaigning posters recommend putting Labor candidates last on the ballot paper, and first “Liberal-National”!
The election is later this year, One Nation candidate failed to win the recent by election in Victoria, the Liberal candidate won. I hope all conservative minor parties support the Liberal-National Coalition because they have the numbers already elected as the launching into government position.

That comparison is becoming increasingly hard to ignore in modern Australia.

There have been similar observations made by former ALP MPs including former NSW State Treasurer Michael Costa speaking as a guest on Sky News, and a few others at other times have expressed concerns, including describing the PM and others as left faction socialists which amused me as the ALP National Constitution contains several references to socialist objectives and that Labor is a democratic socialist party.
Same as Victoria State Labor present and previous Premiers, and Cabinet Ministers generally.
During the late 1980s media described Victoria as “Rust Belt of Victoria” created by Premiers Cain followed by Kirner, I remember as a business regular visitor to Melbourne seeing service station driveways chained off and closed, shops closed and window boarded over, etc. And then followed from 1990 the worst recession Australia had experienced for sixty years, referred to by Labor as the recession we had to have, followers believed it meant international pressures however it was national economy overheating and a major reason deregulation of banking and finance, floating of the dollar and no specific industry government watchdog oversight …. that was established 1998 by Howard Government, APRA – Australian Prudential Regulatory Authority.
I am very worried about the short and long term future for Australia and Australians because repairing the damage already created, considering potentially two more years of Albanese Government, the mess they will hand over, if Labor is not returned to government again by scattering of voter preferences, as recently in South Australia State election.

“What One Illinois Speaker Said About Islam and America Has People Talking”
“The speaker claims that the history of Islam in America didn’t begin in 1965 (when immigration laws changed, allowing for much more immigration from non-European countries) or anytime in the 20th century. She claims Islam is “woven into the very tapestry of this nation.” Yet where is it? Where are the Muslim Founding Fathers? Where are the Muslim signers of the Declaration of Independence? Where are the Muslims who fought in the Civil War (on either side)? Where are the Muslim veterans of the Spanish-American War, or World War I, or World War II, or Korea? There might be a handful for Korea, and subsequent conflicts, but the fact is that otherwise, Islam has had no significant presence in the U.S. until September 11, 2001. And it was only after that date that mass Muslim migration began, so most Muslims in the U.S. have been here less the 25 years.
The claim is actually based on the contention that a large number, if not all, of the black slaves in antebellum America were Muslims. This is an increasingly popular claim among the leftists who insist that “black and brown people built this nation,” but it is as unlikely as it is widely circulated. The uncomfortable fact is that Muslims in Africa often captured non-Muslim Africans and sold them to the Atlantic slave traders; they didn’t generally capture or sell their fellow Muslims, as that would have been against the Qur’an’s injunction to be “ruthless to unbelievers, merciful to one another” (48:29).”

We finally signed up for Starlink. Just after the peak of the recent bushfires we lost mobile phone and Internet access simultaneously. When your main timely window into fire intensity and direction is the VicEmergeny system this is to say the least sub optimal.
After a bit of investigation we discovered that various mobile carriers and the NBN are aggregating their links back to network hubs (in this case Shepparton). This shared infrastructure reduces their costs but presents a single point of failure. Our faux independent Federal Member was disinterested as was the State member(my low expectations were met)
So to avoid a repeat we are trying the Starlink route. It will be interesting to see how it goes. Never had an issue with our NBN fixed wireless based provider Aussie Broadband. They have been excellent communicators advising on NBN planned and unplanned outages. Starlink has a pretty poor customer service rep, but the technology seems to work well. We have a couple of friends with services running.
Would like to support local businesses but at the moment they dont have the product we need.

Mrs Wife and I just got back from Mater Cancer Care Centre, where my wife is back on chemo, for her third round of infusions. They are long, stressful and exhausting days. The next few days will be hell for her. Day three is usually the worst, partly because she takes steroid tablets on days one and two, which fill her with unnatural energy. She’s like Tigger, but with insomnia. Then she crashes and has to deal with the horrible side effects.
Some good news is that her blood test after the first infusions two weeks ago showed that her CA125 cancer marker had more than halved, from 312 down to 88. There was one week’s delay for this second infusion because he white blood count was too low. Thankfully, it rebounded sufficiently for treatment to continue.
I know way more about cancer now than I ever wanted to, but once again I have to say how totally amazed we are by the care and professionalism shown by the Mater cancer team. She is a public patient but you’d never guess based on the care she’s receiving. The oncologists are superb, but the nurses and admin staff are universally exceptional, a rare combination of professional AND caring, with a smile for everyone. Even patients’ sidekicks like me receive care and attention.
So anyway, here we are back at home, shattered but thankful, and hopeful.

“The IEA’s Energy Fantasy Meets the Iran War”
“Energy pundits are claiming that the Iran war, like COVID, has fundamentally changed the energy paradigm. IEA’s head, Fatih Birol, crystallized this view in a recent Guardian interview, declaring that the genie cannot go back in the bottle, oil markets are fundamentally transformed, “the vase is broken,” and “nobody regrets renewables.” He also advised the UK against bringing on additional oil, insisting that more exploration will not solve the current crisis.”

“The Apprenticeship
Why one politician survives the format that destroys everyone else”
“Trump is the only major American politician of the last forty years who was professionally formed in the long-form format. That is the entire answer. The credentialed class has spent ten years measuring him by a qualification its own format has rendered obsolete.”

Dr Jill is making headlines saying she thought Joe was having a stroke during the infamous debate.
Really? I watched it live and I didn’t think he was any different to the Joe we had been watching for the three years previous, didn’t see anything worse than his version of “normal”.

In march 2024, American morning TV host Joe Scarborough said this….
The debate occurred just 3 months later in june 2024.
It was a colossal fail by any standard.
The MSM and the democrats had no way to cover for what happened to Biden on that stage. There was no way for them to mischaracterise what the world had seen with their own eyes.
It was not a right wing MAGA conspiracy theory.
Now most of MSM and quite a few democrats finally agree that Biden had problems that they didn’t report on and/or covered up.

The stroke story gives the out. By saying he had a stroke they can pretend he was OK the day before – there was nothing to explain.

I have not heard of this before. Alarmists build a testament to their own delusion so future generation can gaze in awe.

A common thread among climate alarmists is ignorance of natural history. It’s not just that they don’t know about it, either. They have some perceptual deficiency that keeps them from understanding the vast scope of time. Anything that occurred before their lifespan is an abstraction, and might as well have never happened.
Which is an indirect way of saying that they aren’t particularly bright.
