Wokeness and climate delusions affect the medical profession just as badly as any other element of society.

Within the anaesthetics profession there is a push by some to ban the anaesthetic agent desflurane because it is supposedly an especially powerful greenhouse gas.

This happens to be a very useful and effective agent which many anaesthetists prefer because of its fast recovery times and other advantages.

However many woke Australian hospitals have banned, want to ban, or discourage its use because of its supposedly destructive greenhouse effects.

    E.g.

    https://catag.org.au/wp-content/uploads/CATAG-Position-Statement-on-the-formulary-listing-of-desflurane-FINAL.pdf

    https://aci.health.nsw.gov.au/ie/projects/reducing-the-use-of-desflurane

    https://greenhospitals.org/news/new-case-study-australia-reducing-environmental-impact-anaesthesia

    https://www.sjog.org.au/news-and-media/media-releases/2024/environment-the-big-winner-in-national-decision-by-st-john-of-god-health-care

Beyond that, they have invented a new reason to ban it. Supposedly because it and one of its degradation by-products is a “forever chemical” meaning it’s (supposedly) persistent in the environment for a very long time.

Surely if it’s stable in the environment it means it’s relative unreactive so should do little harm? Stability means little or no chemical reaction?

    E.g. see the following paper:

“Environmental harm from anaesthesia: the importance of clinical realism and chemical persistence”

    https://www.bjaopen.org/article/S2772-6096%2825%2900114-5/fulltext

Sevoflurane, desflurane, and isoflurane are all fluorinated compounds that meet PFAS criteria: by definition, they contain at least one fully fluorinated carbon and are highly stable, mobile, and resistant to degradation.7 As such, they contribute not only to global warming, but also to very significant chemical pollution.

Upon atmospheric release, these agents degrade to trifluoroacetic acid (TFA), a terminal PFAS that accumulates in rainwater and surface water globally.7

The current global mean surface temperature anomaly is already approximately 1.36°C above pre-industrial levels. This means the margin remaining before reaching the critical 1.5°C threshold is much narrower than implied. The climate crisis is a present emergency and mitigation is urgently required, particularly in high-impact domains such as volatile anaesthesia.

The paper doesn’t actually prove any harm, however.

And modern chemical analysis equipment can detect vanishingly small quantities of substance so just because something is detectable doesn’t mean it’s bad.

I’m interested in people’s thoughts on this and any refutation or confirmation you might offer.

My anaesthetist friend is very concerned that one of his favourite anaesthetic agents will become unavailable everywhere, as it already is at some of the hospitals where he works.

300,000 people drown each year. Ban water.

1 million people die each year from car accidents. Ban cars.

3 million people each year die from the effects of obesity. Ban food.

Worst of all, life itself is a sexually transmitted invariably fatal disease. Governments and doctors know this and yet it is permitted, supported and encouraged. Unconscionably.

Everything is deadly. Deadly needs to be quantified on risk benefit.

But rapid Global Warming is to be stopped at all costs. Look what happened to the dinosaurs. 150 million years of total domination and all we have left is chicken.

“.. before reaching the critical 1.5°C threshold ..”
In 1947 a talk-song by Carson Robison was released and became very popular, titled “Life Gits Tee-Jus Don’t It”
There is no critical 1.5°C threshold and saying so is well past Tee-Jus.

Whether it is about desflurane or some other chemical used in small amounts (burping cattle), the harm – if any – is unmeasurable regarding climate. Tiresome, boring, tedious.

It’s a classic tactic of industry to seek to ban chemicals that are approaching their patent protection … thus forcing people to have to use less effective newer alternatives that have patent protection. A classic is refrigerants.

Doctors cover so many aspects of our lives that it’s a big enough task to be able to recognise health issues and deal with them by using references to decide on suitable treatment.
Reference, upon diagnosis, to the collected wisdom and experience of previous experts is then relatively easy compared with the study which would be required to carry all that expertise ready to go.

A sensible approach, but unfortunately there are “others” who might try to control that collected wisdom for their own personal gain.
Think of the cash flow involved in the modern use of Vaxxines and their dodgy use to “prevent” all sorts of Mini minor things that may or may not be hanging around in the ‘vironment.

Is there a Vaxxine that could fix greed?

Not surprisingly the ultra-woke California Society of Anesthesiologists gives a choice between the environment and the patient and you must choose the environment being the wokesters they are.

      https://csahq.org/2022/05/16/rethinking-desflurane/

Desflurane is clearly not a good option for the environment. Anesthesiologists continue to use this agent for its perceived ability to provide faster emergence and many may not be aware of its oversized contribution to the greenhouse effect and climate change. From 2001 to 2014, Desflurane emissions to the atmosphere rose from 150 to 960 tons annually as the global market for Desflurane increased 5.1% per year.5,6 Anesthesiologists should now reconsider whether the potential for faster operating room turnover and individual patient care outweighs the global health effects of this agent on the human population, especially when more sustainable anesthetics (Sevoflurane, Propofol, etc.) are readily available and provide equivalent clinical outcomes.

My anaesthetist friend doesn’t agree there are suitable substitutes as claimed.

The same organisation estimates that global emissions of Desflurane is around 960 tons.

It must be a very magical substance if 960 tons of anything distributed over the whole planet can affect anything, let alone the weather. If it was so magical you could send 960 tonnes of it to Mars and warm it up a bit. It would only need about ten Starship deliveries.

You can see what’s happening here.

When the standard scary stories of catastrophic global warming don’t have the desired effect you up the ante and claim “forever chemical” status and then claim its going to kill all the penguins in Antarctica or whatever…

Even the Australian Government, fanatical “environmentalists” and fully mega woke, don’t agree that PFAS’s are a problem and cite the wokesters at ANU:

      https://www.cdc.gov.au/topics/environmental-health/and-polyfluoroalkyl-substances-pfas

Australian National University PFAS Health Study

In 2016, the Australian National University (ANU) studied the potential health effects associated with PFAS exposure in:

      Katherine, Northern Territory
      Oakey, Queensland
      Williamtown, New South Wales.

ANU released the findings of this study in 2021. They are consistent with previous studies, which confirm PFAS has not shown to cause disease in humans.

You absolutely can’t get any more woke than the Australian Government and ANU and if there was even the slightest possibility of getting a scary story out of it they would, but they didn’t.

The paper doesn’t actually prove any harm, however.”

Difficult to do, although the health problems at the DuPont factory producing Teflon products are well-documented. We are assuming that while our bodies run on highly electro-negative chlorine and iodine, fluorine will not interfere and will have no effect.

A dodgy assumption that no-one seems keen to study.

“There is currently limited evidence of human disease or other clinically significant harm resulting from PFAS exposure.

Some studies have found associations between people exposed to some types of PFAS chemicals and the following biological effects:

increased cholesterol and uric acid levels in the blood
      reduced kidney function
      altered indicators of immunological function
altered levels of thyroid and sex hormones
      lower birth weight in babies.

    “Climate Oddel Modities”

“The IPCC describes computer climate models as follows:

“Climate models are mathematical representations of the climate system, expressed as computer codes and run on powerful computers. One source of confidence in models comes from the fact that model fundamentals are based on established physical laws, such as conservation of mass, energy and momentum, along with a wealth of observations.”

    More on that

    And concludes

“I also realized that wasn’t really the issue. The real issue is the following:

If all of these wonderful models are “based on established physical laws, such as conservation of mass, energy and momentum, along with a wealth of observations”, then why do their results differ so greatly?

And of course, the corollary to that:

Why does anybody pay the slightest attention to this inaccurate, ludicrously unfit-for-purpose climate model farrago?

As Chester Nimitz said in his message to Bull Halsey … “The world wonders”. ”

Back in the day, a computer program couldn’t be called a model until it had been validated.

These climate “models” are not real models because they aren’t validated and have no forecasting or even hindcasting power.

A profession of “climate modeller” is nothing but white collar welfare for fake “scientists”.

      Opens with –

“There is a particular kind of institutional decay that announces itself not through incompetence but through overreach – the moment a body built to advise quietly converts itself into an advocacy outfit. That moment arrived in plain view last week when the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine released a 253-page report claiming that scientists can now attribute individual heatwaves and rainstorms to man-made emissions “with a high degree of confidence”, and wildfires, droughts and cyclones with “moderate confidence”. Two days later President Trump did something no prior occupant of the White House had quite dared to do: he called the report what it is on Truth Social: “Fraudulent, biased and misleading,” ordering federal suspension and debarment officials to review the Academies’ conduct and taxpayers’ exposure to what he termed “Climate Fraud”. “

Following Shows the Problem of Returning ISIS Fighters to Australia

Berlin Terrorist Killed During Police Capture – Background of Terrorism as Known Wolfe July 26, 2026 |

The suspect who drove a van into a crowded gay-pride celebration was shot and killed by police following a manhunt. Abdul Ballout, a German citizen with Lebanese roots, was killed following a search that lasted nearly 24 hours after the attack in downtown Berlin.

KNOWN WOLF -The background of 21-year-old terrorist Abdul Ballout is a case study in failure by European authorities.

Ballout previously travelled to Lebanon in 2025 to join ISIS in Syria. He was identified by German authorities as an ISIS terrorist and arrested in Lebanon where he served three months in prison and was returned to Germany.

Abdul Ballout was arrested at the Berlin airport upon return and was convicted in May of this year for preparing a serious act of violence endangering the state, as well as publishing Islamic State propaganda on his Instagram account and other charges. He was sentenced to 1 year, 10-months in prison but the sentence was suspended for time served; he was released from custody. (Via Associated Press) – BERLIN (AP) —

The suspect in the deadly Berlin Pride attack that left one person dead and 29 injured was shot and killed by police during a confrontation on Sunday in a suburb of the city, authorities said. Abdul Ballout, a German citizen with Lebanese roots, was killed following a search that lasted nearly 24 hours after the attack in downtown Berlin. Berlin prosecutors said the suspect had previously sought to join the militant Islamic State group.

The ironic aspect to this particular attack, that seems to be Verboten to say here in Australia, is the cultural sensitivity of his victims.

Abdul Ballout killed the same people who march in the streets to protect Islamists from the consequences of their ideology.

I was amazed that the Germans so quickly identified the demographic of the terrorist.

They normally quickly say that it was a “lone wolf” or “nothing to do with I****” or “mental problems” or they say nothing at all, and saying nothing at all is when you really know.

I hope Australia enjoys this very same demographic, imported as future Labor voters and with little or no vetting.

But there are plenty of useful idiots supporting the importation of the extremists and also plenty supporting same terrorist groups elsewhere, enemies of the West.

Foreign Nationals Now Account for Nearly Half of Germany’s Prison Population

      Catherine Salgado July 26, 2026

A statistic you won’t find in the mainstream media, because it totally undermines the idea that mass immigration is in any way beneficial to Europe, is the number of foreign nationals in Germany’s prisons.

Remix reported on July 24 that foreign nationals account for 45% of the prison population in Germany, and that in the cities of Hamburg and Berlin, the proportion of foreign nationals in prison is almost 60%. When you consider that many migrants have become citizens or have children who are German citizens, the number of criminals due to mass migration could be much higher. The majority of the foreign criminals reportedly came from either Eastern Europe or Arab countries

To put more precise numbers on it, Neue Osnabrücker Zeitung found that 27,000 of the 60,408 people in German jails in March 2026 were not citizens of the country. Notably, as recently as 2015, the percentage of foreigners in German jails was 30%, so the number has increased dramatically since then.

Remix also reported that dual citizens and foreign-born German citizens are not included in the above statistics, arguing that the actual share of inmates with a migration background is likely even higher than the reported 45%.

That has led to the crime wave sweeping the West. In fact, while the foreign population of Germany is only around 17%, according to Remix, foreign nationals possibly comprise a majority of the country’s criminals.

The German Association of Prison Officers’ chairman, René Müller, complained that translators are increasingly necessary in the prison system and that they are not always available to meet the needs of the number of prisoners who require them. He believes this raises the risk of aggression from inmates and the possibility of Muslim prisoners becoming increasingly radicalized and isolated.

July 29 is Fauci’s “interrogation” by Rand Paul in that Congressional Hearing. A lot of commentators are not that interested in what he says, but how he says it. Most think he lied through his teeth throughout the whole COVID bollocks, so he’ll probably lie again. But he will have to be careful. His pardon doesn’t cover any new lies.

But there’s an Australian twist to the whole Proximal Origins theory. Professor Eddie Holmes from Sydney Uni who was very bullish on the whole wet markets, bats soup type theory. I have heard some accusations about that bloke’s bonafides and they’re not pretty. As one of Australia’s key virologists, maybe even the biggest, it’s interesting if he had an influence over this country’s COVID policies.

    Hi JoAnne,
Thought I would send you some information produced by our federal Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water.

That department recently released its latest quarterly update on our National Greenhouse Gas Inventory:
    https://www.dcceew.gov.au/climate-change/publications/national-greenhouse-gas-inventory-quarterly-update-december-2025

What has piqued my interest is a sudden change in the data from 2022 onwards presented in the Figure P1, on page 4 of that December 2025 report.

I’ve been keeping track of this figure for several years now, mainly because it showed that, since Labor was elected to federal government, their obsession with Net Zero has actually achieved Net Zero reduction in Australia’s CO2 emissions. Fortunately, all previous reports are still available from the department’s web site to allow this comparison today:

    https://www.dcceew.gov.au/sites/default/files/documents/quarterly-update-australias-national-greenhouse-gas-inventory-september-2025.pdf
    https://www.dcceew.gov.au/sites/default/files/documents/National%20Greenhouse%20Gas%20Inventory%20Quarterly%20Update%20June%202025.pdf
    https://www.dcceew.gov.au/sites/default/files/documents/quarterly-update-australia-national-greenhouse-gas-inventory-march-2025.pdf
    https://www.dcceew.gov.au/sites/default/files/documents/nggi-quarterly-update-december-2024.pdf
    https://www.dcceew.gov.au/sites/default/files/documents/nggi-quarterly-update-dec-2023.pdf

As you will see from the same chart from the preceding four quarters, and the chart from December 2023, there are always slight adjustments of the data from one quarter to the next. But in general, the data in all previous Figures P1 remained reasonably consistent from one quarter to the next, going back to 2022. What all previous quarterly updates show is that Australia’s CO2 emissions effectively flat lined since the COVID pandemic, bouncing around the horizontal line representing 110 Mt CO2e.

However, December 2025’s Figure P1 presents a fundamentally different picture. It indicates a sudden increase in Australia’s emissions, reaching 120 Mt CO2 around December 2022, followed by a consistent decline since then.

Almost as soon as the latest quarterly update was published, the ABC ran an article regaling Australians with the claim that “Australia’s greenhouse gas emissions have dropped”:
    https://www.abc.net.au/news/2026-06-05/australias-emissions-drop-as-renewable-energy-batteries-surge/106751294

What that ABC article doesn’t mention is the fact that the previous quarter’s emissions were at 110 Mt CO2e, whereas the December 2025 quarter’s emissions showed 112 Mt CO2e. So not only did emissions not drop from September 2025 to December 2025, but the ABC’s claim that “Emissions are at their lowest point since the COVID pandemic” is obviously wrong.

Similarly, given that the December 2024 quarter showed emissions were also at 110 Mt CO2e, the ABC’s claim that emissions were “dropping 2.1 per cent over the year to December 2025” is also obviously wrong.

My suspicion is that someone in the federal government did not like what four years of government report were saying about the ineffectiveness of Labor’s Net Zero policies. The only conclusion that I can draw is that someone in the department was told to change historical data to make the latest quarterly update look better for Labor.

Worst case, this could be another example of bureaucrats lying to the Australian public. Best case, the government was fishing for a good news story from the incurious ABC, particularly after Labor recently removed its 2030 target of 82% renewables. Either way, what appears to be an obvious case of historical data editing may be worthy of some investigation.
