In the end, we have to win the Science battle
Donald Trump is not just slowing down the Blobocrats-of-Climate-Control, he’s on a quest to destroy it at the source. He asked the EPA Chief, Lee Zeldin, to reconsider the 2009 Endangerment Finding, and the EPA chief has delivered. Without the Finding that greenhouse gases endanger public health, the central mechanism for US climate regulation disintegrates.
Skeptics Francis Menton and Anthony Watts are celebrating this historic win after years of work. But the quest is not over. Menton estimates that the official unwinding and legal battles could continue for the rest of the Trump Presidency. He hopes it will clear the Supreme Court before the next election.
Essentially the sacred EPA finding of 2009 was that atmospheric concentrations of six key greenhouse gases threatens both the public health and the public welfare of current and future generations. At that moment, CO2, the building block of life, became also “a pollutant”. By issuing this “finding”, the EPA was therefore legally required under the Clean Air Act to regulate cars, houses, power plants, factories, hamburgers and your light bulbs.
Thus the Endangerment Ring binds all others, employs a million regulators, and centralizes control. Ultimately, it corrupts all those on the sacred quest to control the weather (if they were not corrupt to start with). It’s power reaches right into your home and takes your money, and shrinks the shower-head too.
Like the Ring, the Finding is treated as sacred — “It shalt not be questioned.” Like the Ring, the Finding was forged by an undeserving power — this large political decision was not set by elected representatives in Congress, but by bureaucrats using the Clean Air Act in a way its authors never intended.
And like The One Ring of Middle Earth, the Endangerment finding would corrupt even the good hearted. It is so toxic, it could not be used for good without being corrupted. And it makes the wielder of the power invisible — the hidden bureaucrats are the ones choosing what car you can have, or where you buy your oranges, or what kind of power stations you are allowed to buy electricity from. Soon they want to keep you in a 15 minute city…
In the words of Alex Guillen at Politico — “The rollback is the most audacious attempt yet by President Donald Trump to undo federal restrictions on fossil fuels.”
In some fields of science, The Blob owns almost all the scientists. Because the case was scientifically weak, those who even challenged the sacred Endangerment were cast as heretics or enemies of progress.
Energy Secretary Chris Wright, who was also on hand for the announcement, added that he asked five scientists who “have not been cowed by the politics of climate change” to conduct “an honest, credible, data and fact-driven assessment of climate change.”
“We want to end the cancel culture Orwellian future reality we’ve been in where climate change is not treated as a serious science, is treated as a political force to silence and shame people,” Wright said.

I think the UK is most likely in the worst position, as their government appears to be the last of the true believers in the climate apocalypse. The EU is not far behind, due to their sclerotic supranational bureaucracy making it damn near impossible to turn the ship around even though quite a few of their member nations are slowly but surely coming to the realization that Net Zero is madness.
Australia may still give lip service to the Climate Emergency hoax, but their status as a dominant exporter of ‘dirty’ coal exposes the lie underneath all the rhetoric. If the Australian government really were true believers, they would have shut down that trade years ago (like American greens have tried mightily to do with some success). Believe it or not, Musk is probably happy with it. Tesla has been largely excluded from government subsidies/incentives/rebates for years now due to them selling too many cars and not being a union shop. Tesla made bank with government largess in the 2010s, but he has largely been operating without it for a while now. With the way things are currently, green subsidies are a competitive disadvantage for Tesla because their competitors get them and they don’t. So zeroing it all out puts them back on an even footing, which they haven’t had for years.

The measured temperature is no longer a big deal. The warming trend in the Northern Hemisphere is well established and there is nothing alarming being observed. Very few people are concerned about Greenland being minus 25C in winter rather than the minus 35C it used to be. The reason for that increase is the increasing heat advection from warmer oceans that results in higher snowfall.
They have not realised why the NH is warming and will be constantly surprised by how warm it gets. They are expecting all the ice to eventually melt and are not even looking at where the ice is gaining. If you know history, you would be really concerned about Greenland already gaining elevation:

The EPA chief has said they have reconsidered the Endangerment Finding and they will be rescinding it. So yes, that means all six gasses.
That will still take another six months. But the legal challenges to this will go through all the courts to the highest possible one. Lawfare by The Blob will aim to delay things as much as possible.
The question America needs to ask is why one government agency was ever given the power to make a pronouncement that would cost the nation hundreds of billions and affect every aspect of business, industry, bureaucracy etc, and without getting congressional approval.

However what would utterly destroy the renewables scam is ending the fantasy that man can change CO2 levels. That CO2 is not in rapid equilibrium.
Humans have zero ability to change CO2. Which is why no one talks about CO2, only ’emissions’.
All the CO2 from fossil fuels since 1750 would amount to no more than a 2% increase in total CO2. And so a tiny 2% increase in atmospheric CO2.
The only argument is that a 50% increase in CO2 since the use of fossil fuels is unprecedented, so an argument of coincidence. But modern CO2 is radioactive where fossil fuel Co2 is not. So by direct measurement with C14, radio(active) Carbon dating, fossil fuel CO2 been a tiny 2.0% for the last 70 years. And C14 is at the same level as it was before 1750.
So it’s all busted. But legislators and regulators have had a field day crippling Western democracies. Just like the creation and release of the deadly Wuhan Bat virus which crippled the planet, built by the French, illegally funded by the US and operated by the Chinese Army this man made virus killed tens of millions and no one has accepted responsibility.

Lee Zeldin’s EPA Liberates American Industry
In March, we cheered the news that Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Lee Zeldin planned to “reconsider” the Obama EPA’s 2009 “Endangerment Finding.” That finding allowed the EPA to regulate fossil fuel emissions under the Clean Air Act.
On Tuesday, Zeldin announced that the EPA intends to rescind the finding, a step he described as “the largest deregulatory action in the history of the United States.”

The Clean Air Act, passed in 1970, provides that the EPA administrator “shall by regulation prescribe . . . standards applicable to the emission of any air pollutant” from new motor vehicle engines, “which in his judgment cause, or contribute to, air pollution which may reasonably be anticipated to endanger public health or welfare.”
The Supreme Court, in a dubious 5–4 decision in Massachusetts v. EPA (2007), ruled that Congress in 1970 meant to classify carbon dioxide as an “air pollutant” notwithstanding the fact that it is naturally present in the atmosphere and is exhaled by humans and animals.
The Court required the EPA to provide a “reasoned explanation” for why it was not regulating “greenhouse gases.”
The Obama and Biden administrations each rushed to pile such regulations on the carmakers.
The 2007 ruling has been the legal basis for those regulations, but the EPA administrator can rescind it on one or both of two grounds: that he does not consider such emissions to “endanger public health or welfare,” or that he believes that the Court read the statute wrong
The EPA is pursuing both.

Americans can breathe easy with $1 trillion in useless red tape repealed

The U.S. government is about to end systemic discrimination against carbon dioxide, and that’s good news for anyone who engages in respiration.
Under a newly proposed rule, the Environmental Protection Agency will cease treating carbon dioxide as a poison, repealing the legal foundation of the most breathtaking power grab since the New Deal.
“If finalized, today’s announcement would amount to the largest deregulatory action in the history of the United States,” EPA Secretary Lee Zeldin said at a press conference Tuesday.
At the beginning of President Obama’s term, the EPA assumed unilateral authority to compel automakers, airplane manufacturers and factory owners to do its bidding, even though Congress never approved the move. Bureaucrats twisted a law written in 1970 to contend they could do whatever they pleased to “combat” global warming.
Never mind that “climate scientists” in the 1970s were fretting about the planet being headed toward inevitable catastrophe because of global cooling, not warming. This scare manifested in pop culture with the 1979 hit “London Calling” from British rock band The Clash, which issued the dire warning, “The ice age is coming, the sun’s zooming in.”
Mr. Zeldin objected to his predecessors’ exuberance by asking, “Do you really think that the EPA should be coming up with the many, many, many mental leaps that went into this endangerment finding that took a section of the Clean Air Act and put an extremely creative and unprecedented spin on it?”
If federal lawmakers want to authorize the EPA to regulate carbon dioxide, they can pass legislation saying so. This hasn’t happened because Americans don’t like the idea of paying more at the pump. They hate gas cans that don’t pour properly. They want to buy affordable automobiles, and they dislike today’s crippled household appliances.

I remember 2009 very well. On the 18th November 2009, I was fed up with the lies of so-called Climate Change and so to DO SOMETHING, I wrote a Motion listing these lies and presented it to our Liberal Branch whereupon the centre-lefties in the Branch threw it out. Sixteen years later we are still paying for the LIE. There’s a little note on the bottom of the motion “I was right!”.
