The UN wants to be One World Government and it starts with a carbon tax on ships and planes

By Jo Nova

Here we go again — the UN will try again in October to get its own income stream. The UN bureaucrats don’t want to go begging for cash among difficult right wing populist leaders, they want their own money. So, yet again, they’re proposing some form of carbon tax on ships and planes, supposedly to save the world from beachy weather. But we all know that the main purpose is to line the pockets of The Blob.

If they succeed, they will just ask for more. There’s no accountability. No limits. Just an infinite array of ways to “help us” by taking our money.

The UN’s plan to levy taxes on global trade is a sinister power grab

By Brenda Shaffer, The Telegraph

International energy and climate policies stand at the centre of one of the most defining political issues of our time: the expanding power of unelected institutions such as the United Nations in the lives of people in democratic societies.

Two UN agencies – the International Maritime Organisation (IMO) and the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) – plan to tax global shipping and aviation for their greenhouse gas emissions. This would mark the first time an unelected institution has levied taxes on major sectors of global economic activity. The planned levies would expand the power and budgets of these agencies with no democratic accountability.

If implemented, the UN agency levies will raise global shipping and aviation costs, adding to inflation worldwide. Shipping produces just around 2 per cent of global greenhouse gas emissions, yet a UN tax on it would add costs to virtually every traded good. Shipping carries more than 80 per cent of global trade, a share expected to grow. Civil aviation accounts for approximately 2.5 per cent of global emissions. The planned carbon offset requirement would add further costs to international flights.

The IMO hopes that airlines will be purchasing carbon offsets from January next year and it expects to rake in between $11 billion and $13 billion US.

As Brenda Shaffer points out, only the rich (stupid) west will pay this fee.  It will offer another competitive advantage to China.

Worse, it will feed the Blob. Every dollar fed into the machine is more money the UN can use for soft propaganda, and compliant modeling to sell their horror stories. It’s more money to reward their acolytes with junkets to Brazil or Azerbaijan to keep them loyal.

The UN should be disbanded for even suggesting they want taxation without representation. Enough!

The UN has long gone past it’s usefulness and should be scrapped.
It’s just a gravy train for failed pollies and their ilk.

I remember reading some time ago that in about 1948 it was denigrated.
Of course, the “bureaucratic” types did not agree and won that argument.

Hence we have the shite of today.

I reckon the ONLY way Australia will ever be able to get out of its clutches is when
ONE NATION holds power in Canberra.

And that MAY be sooner than the UNI-Party think.
    More protection required.

Wouldn’t it have been nice is the UN had actually spent time, expertise and the money gifted to it to improve the lives of people in developing nations?
It’s beyond belief that there is still a need to build basic infrastructure, provide clean water, education, reliable and affordable electricity, not to mention actual peace and stability.
All those things are supposed to be facilitated under the UN charter, yet here we are, decades down the track (nearly 80 years in fact) and still millions are ignored and left behind.
The UN is way past its use-by date, and there’s no need or reason to continue feeding the well-upholstered would-be “world leaders” who think they own us and would control us down to our very thoughts.
    Enough!

Take what appears to be a reasonable idea, then morph it into just another money making machine. Not only the U.N. look at Greenpeace, the WWF. etc. Think the only one of these going broke might be the Sierra Club. The rest just took their primary reason for existence into politics and money. Forget “saving the children” run an add costing many thousands of dollars to beg for more money to run more adds to beg for more money. And so on and so on,

Like the League of Nations before it, the UN reached its use-by date. However, the UN then over-reached! It’s time for its termination.

Just another sound reason to vote for One Nation in Victoria in November and in the Federal election in 2028.
Of course we must preference vote for the Coalition after we vote for ON and make sure we preference the dangerous Labor and Greens loonies last on your ballot paper.
If you don’t preference Labor and Greens last you are wasting your time and you will ensure we have the net zero BS and lunacy forever.

Blackout is certain to lose his seat in McMahon in the next election. Last year’s poll had him at 19% primary. That will not even get him into a preference race.

He is now looking to his future outside Australia as Rudd did. He has $155M to splash about to buy UN favours. He will surely sign off on this new UN tax. Rudd learnt a hard lesson for criticising POTUS Trump as has the UN.

All these leaches sucking the life out of the real economy. And their ABC morons wonder why inflation is out of control – STOP FUNDING THE UN.

“Rudd learnt a hard lesson ”

I could be so lucky to learn hard lessons that just happen to make me and other family members millionaires. The pain of public humiliation quickly fades on the way home from the bank.
Like starting a labour hire company just before the laws changed, or investing in renewable energy, just before the laws changed. All good luck!

The jobs company was his wife, who had been one of the senior bureaucrats at Education, Employment, and Training who privatized the old Commonwealth Employment Service.

She then proceeded to get the Queensland Govt contract for providing bodies for the rapidly expanding QLD public service.

If only we could ensure that BOB never again has a government-funded or government influencing position anywhere in the World, including the UN.

      No lobbying jobs either.

He needs to be kept away from any position of influence in public affairs.

Add, no government-funded jobs for any ex-politician for a specified period – say 5 or 10 years so that they cannot feather their own nests prior to leaving public office

The UNelected UN imposing a tax?
    Tell ’em they’re dreamin.
Any country/company with any cojones will tell them to shove it.
I guess that means a lot of countries in the west and their woke companies will just fold to the blob.
A distinct lack of cojones and common sense.

I’ve often likened the Climate blob to a Terminator Zombie. It keeps rising up from the dead even after suffering all kinds of setbacks. The UN is part of that blob and we need to find a way to eliminate it. I might have to go rewatch Terminator movie or some Zombie horror show to see how you kill the damn things.

But seriously, Australia is now even more dependent on shipping for our imports and exports. More so our imports these days. So, if our elected representatives vote Yes to this, ( which they will, of course ) it will add to our cost of living. Plus, make all our important export industries ( eg agriculture) more expensive. Because, I’m not sure if people have noticed- we’re at the bottom of the world at the end of the shipping lanes. But then again, our elected representatives signed us up to Net Zero, even though our continent is a CO2 sink.

In films, decaptitation has always been a good way to terminate zombies. However, I fear organisations like the UN are more like a hydra- you cut a head off and two grow back.

Creation of United Nations Agendas and Laws in Australia
    Ratification of International Treaties
In Australia, the process of creating laws related to United Nations agendas begins with the ratification of international treaties. The Australian government commits to uphold these treaties, which outline various human rights and international obligations.
    Implementation in Domestic Law
While ratification is a crucial first step, these international obligations often require domestic legislation to be fully enforceable. Currently, Australia does not have a comprehensive national Human Rights Act that would directly incorporate the rights outlined in these treaties into its legal system.
    Key Points
Ratification: Australia signs and ratifies international treaties, committing to their principles.
Domestic Legislation: For these treaties to be enforceable, specific laws must be enacted at the national level.
Lack of a National Human Rights Act: The absence of a comprehensive Human Rights Act means that many rights protected by international treaties are not directly enforceable in Australia.
    Conclusion
The creation of laws based on United Nations agendas in Australia involves a two-step process: ratification of treaties followed by the need for domestic legislation. The current lack of a national Human Rights Act presents challenges in fully realizing these international commitments within the Australian legal framework.

A traitor within is worse than an enemy without – although they’re both bloodsucking leeches of the lowest order.

Word is… Greens co-leader Chloe Swarbrick narked on New Zealand to the United Nations recently, claiming the government was refusing to pay “billions” for “carbon credits” and that “action” should be taken by the UN to make NZ pay… or the planet gets it!

Can’t find any journalistic reporting on the matter (which happened in April) though here’s a word or two straight from the horse’s mouth, champing at the bit and frothing like a demented creature:

Chloe, another spoiled schoolgirl batting for her own team went to uni then straight [cough!] into politricks of the Red/Green fashion, shortly thereafter gaining No.1 position to be shared with another radical [Maori] woman. It’s all about ‘the workers’ and one-for-all right? Except –

In some respects, the relationship between the Australian states and international law has received a great deal of attention, most notably following a series High Court decisions, culminating in the Tasmanian Dam case,Footnote 10 that confirmed the ability of the Commonwealth to implement Australia’s international legal obligations without the consent of the states.Footnote 11 However, the focus of most work on the subject has been the appropriate allocation of rights and responsibilities between the Commonwealth and the states within Australia’s federal system.

Labor Prime Ministers Rudd and Gillard were planning an emissions trading scheme for Australia and the first step, despite Gillard promising there would be no carbon tax under a government she led, was Carbon Tax 10% (and hidden Renewable Energy Surcharge 10% in Service to Property Charge both later abolished by Abbott Liberal National Coalition Government).

After implementation of Carbon Tax the Minister Greg Combet was being interviewed on radio and he admitted that the Carbon Tax was the first step before joining Australia to the EU Emissions Trading Scheme. He also confirmed that 10% of Carbon Tax revenue was being sent to the UN as a donation.

The name “greenhouse gas” is totally wrong, a greenhouse has a physical barrier that stops the interior hot air from rising and the cool air from entering. The so-called “greenhouse gases” are actually radiative gases that absorb heat at particular wavelengths depending on their molecular composition and re-radiate that heat back into the environment. They do not add any heat, merely pass on heat already in the system from the Sun as do all molecules.
The UN is using this scam in an attempt at gaining control over the World. UN Secretary-General was formerly President of Socialist International ie a Communist, who wishes to take control of all of our lives. Communism is merely the old Feudal system whereby the Chairman is the equivalent of the King, the Party members are the equivalent of the Lords and Ladies and the rest of the population are the serfs forced to do as they are ordered.

I’m pretty sure Trump will oppose this travesty.

The UN imposes Nothing upon the USA without the consent of the USA, ratified by the US Senate, and signed by the President.

    Here’s 4 plausible options:

    1. US laughs at the UN, publicly and often.
    2. US establishes a UN Tariff upon any shipping or aircraft entering the US at twice the UN levy.
    3. US to UN: Go and stuff yourself, we aren’t playing your game.
    4. US: USA withdraws from the UN, stops all monies to UN, closes the UN HQ in New York City, and sells the property to investors.

Likely more options, but you get the general idea.

Trump withdrew US funding to the WHO early this year, citing a lack of transparency and mishandling of the pandemic as major reasons. That’s about 12-15% of its budget. This latest raft of proposed carbon taxes could simply be seen as the UN trying to balance the books.

It’s fundamentally different though. The UN normally has to get the money through governments which supposedly answer to the people. By taxing direct, the UN becomes a government that answers to no one. In theory, the billions could be used to set up a police force or army that would collect taxes from reluctant payers.

This is a big step towards the UN becoming a World Government. And if it starts, it will only grow.

It’s a long way further than a just the IMO and ICAO grabbing taxes on transport emissions.

The UN is currently in the process of creating a transnational taxation system under the Framework Convention on International Tax Cooperation. The original idea behind this was to generate ‘sustainable’ income for developing nations – a wealth redistribution system that would make Marx wonder.

    https://financing.desa.un.org/unfcitc

It appears that this process has been extended from tithes on developed economies to climate taxes on fossil fuel producers and personal taxes on the very rich.

    The Grauniad approvingly explains:

    https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2026/feb/01/fossil-fuel-firms-may-have-to-pay-for-climate-damage-under-proposed-un-tax

“Progress on the tax treaty, which was first proposed by African countries in 2022, has been slow so far. The US has withdrawn from the talks, though this need not prevent other countries pressing ahead.

If it can be made to work, the treaty could be a big step forward in making fossil fuel producers pay for the damage they cause, and in ensuring the richest contribute.”

One curious aspect of this philosophy is that responsibility is allocated to producers of a product rather than users who knowingly and willingly burn the dreadful stuff. It’s almost as if nobody really wants a consumption tax because they have no intention of reducing consumption of fossil fuels.

It would be great for America, with the world’s supply of rich and successful taking up residence to avoid handing their wealth over to despots and wastrels.

I’m sure that Australia, being fanatically compliant with UN decrees, will happily comply.

This of course will be on top of the carbon taxes already paid by the top 200 biggest companies under the Safeguard Mechanism.
